I did enjoy the food at Freddy's. It's your typical up-scale, overpriced fast food burger joint. I thought their cheeseburgers had great flavor and you have to try the cheese sauce and seasoning on the fries. I did feel a bit out of place as this seems to be a hangout for the older crowd, probably because they are the only ones who can afford it. Great food, just expensive for what it is, fast food.

Great place for a burger! my 5 year old had two. My family love our visit. Clean, friendly and nice. Milk shakes were good.

Went here today for the first time. (Drive thru) My husband ordered a bacon cheese burger with ketchup only. I ordered my meal with a bottle of water. When we got to the window he handed me a glass of water, not what I wanted but okay I'll live. We enjoyed the shoe string type fries but when we opened our burgers we were a bit disappointed. My husbands ketchup only burger, was smothered with mustard and onions and did not have a drop of ketchup on it. The patties are quite thin as well, not bad but very thin. Double check your order before driving ten miles out of town!

The good, pretty clean, greeted me when I came in, had sweet tea, good tasting food, enjoyed the fries. The bad, server looked dirty, meat was super thin, and when I wanted lettuce and tomato they charged me, but did not give me anything back when I did not want the pickle and onion that came with burger? It was ok, but I kept thinking it was not what the store intended, just ho-hum, come in if you want. I did enjoy the photos on the wall and their honoring of our service men and women. Ok, came back today, as I had some time to kill before my flight, ordered the chili cheese dog and fries, lots of help there, (that were truly helpful and acted like they wanted to be there!) hotdog and fries were great, everything very lively this trip, glad that I returned and raised to 5 stars :-)

After reading other reviews I will say that this isn't better than Five Guys, In-and-Out, or Whataburger. I will say that this a unique experience and I wouldn't pass it up when another opportunity arises. Not a thick burger but more of a chopped steak. Things I'd suggest: ask for condiments like ketchup (they're listed on the menu board) and put some of their seasoning on your burger when you pick it up. Onion rings are okay and they serve seasoned "shoestring" fries. One other bonus you won't find in the other places is the Freddy's Fry Sauce which is a ketchup mayo with the seasoning spice added in. GF had a chocolate shake that she said was very chocolately. Again, doesn't beat anyone else but worth a try to see for yourself.

In the late 70's-early 80's there was a comic book called "The Fabulous Furry FREAK Brothers" which was only sold in the UK not the US or Canada for some reason, about some potheads in SF and one of the Freak Brothers was Fat Freddy. So I call this place Fat Freddy's. Fat Freddy was always given some money to "score a lid of weed" but always got "burned" many times because he was so in need of food and got "ripped-off" of his money so he couldn't "score". So Fat Freddy's it is. Really good hot dogs and frozen custard, and I must say awesome burgers too cos they make them fresh not reheated like McD. Which means for a long drive-thru line, do not come here if you are some type-A personality unoriginal douchebag. You will just get in my way and be annoying.

In my pursuit of a good burger in Grand Island, I stumbled upon this place, I ordered a Cheese burger and fries and the burger wasn't bad, it just had really thin meat (think McDonalds cheeseburger but thinner) Fries were good but too slaty, all in all a pretty good burger!

Thank heavens for Freddy's!!! After passing through Grand Island for years and always having awful food choices (the Wendy's down the street hasn't been cleaned since i was a kid, and the Runza nearby is the worst of their entire restaurant chain), G.I. has FINALLY jumped on the "gourmet burger" bandwagon! The burgers are great, and the fries and onion rings are fantastic. The only caveat is the burger is very thin so you really need to get a 'double'.

Garbage! Steak burger is fried to overdone dry! Can't believe one review rated this junk better than In & Out. Don't waste your money unless you liked over cooked dry burgers that you would have to add liquid in your mouth to chew and swallow.
